THE VOLVO 360° SAFETY EXPERIENCE
The first three-point safety belt. Side impact protection. Pedestrian detection.
Volvo has always been known as a pioneer in vehicle safety.
In 2021, Volvo built on that reputation, becoming the first vehicle manufacturer to win the coveted
IIHS Top Safety Pick+ Award for not one, but all its car models.
And they asked us for an innovative way to celebrate this achievement. Thing is? The best way to demonstrate these
award-winning safety features is in the moments no one ever wants to take place…
So, we needed to find an easier (and much safer) way to bring them to life.
Introducing the Volvo 360° Safety Experience, an interactive AR event.
We designed custom QR targets that were placed on and around a 2021 Volvo in dealerships across the country.
When the targets were scanned, users were launched into a
3D experience of some of Volvo’s top safety innovations, including:
Active Bending Lights
Demonstrated how these lights curve
into the road ahead for maximum illumination.
Pedestrian & Cyclist Collision Prevention
Showed how a Volvo will slow or stop before a driver
is even aware of a pedestrian or cyclist approaching.
Safety Cage
Gave users a responsive, rotating view of the backbone of any Volvo.
Three-Point Safety Belt
Walked through the history of this Volvo original,
including the waived patent that’s led to millions of saved lives.
Forward Collision Warning with Auto Brake
Demonstrated how drivers will be warned
and assisted in case of an impending collision.

With every scan and tap, users learned more about the safety feature and how it protects them on the road.
All without entering a vehicle or the thought of an accident ever crossing their minds.
